Casks for a Cause- Rockingham Union Masonic Lodge #27

June’s Casks for a Cause will be benefiting The Rockingham Union Masonic Lodge #27, whose main objective is to “make good men better” by creating new Master Masons within the community, and being supportive of local first responder organizations and various youth initiatives through lodge fundraisers events/activities throughout the year.
Their mission closely aligns with the motto and words of the founder of The Boy Scouts of America, Lord Robert Baden-Powell, who said Boy Scouts of America seeks to make “healthy, happy, and helpful citizens.”
Hence, Rockingham Union #27 is focusing on using this “Cask for a Cause” fundraising event as an opportunity to focus our support for the Boy Scouts of America – Mountain Valley District of the Virginia Headwaters Council (which covers scouting in the counties of Rockingham, Augusta, Allegheny, Bath, Highland, Rockbridge, & Pendleton).
While each Scout and Scouter pays a fee each year to participate in the Boy Scouts of America program, the costs per participant far outweigh the annual fees collected. The cost per Scout is approximately $500. Fundraisers, such as is one, is relied upon to help reduce the financial burden for participant’s families.
The taproom will open at 1 pm with…
-A “cask” infusion (TBA) with the sale of each pint sold being donated to the Boy Scouts of America – Mountain Valley District through the Rockingham Union #27.
-A silent auction for the framed event poster with the winning bid also acting as a donation.
-Battarbee’s Catering Buggy set up for lunch and dinner service.
-Rockingham Union #27 out promoting all of the good will they are doing in our community while taking donations for Boy Scouts of America – Mountain Valley District.
